Planning applications here go to Enfield Council, and the borough has a number of conservation areas — Winchmore Hill Green, Bush Hill Park and Enfield Town among them — where permitted development rights are restricted and materials are looked at more closely. Anything that falls outside permitted development is worth checking against the borough’s own guidance before a design is fixed, because what passes in one street may not in the next.
